Gloucester managing director Ken Nottage says that Kingsholm was chosen to stage the European Challenge Cup final after their Heineken Cup exit. Nottage told BBC Radio Gloucestershire that officials from the European Rugby Cup were impressed by the stadium when Gloucester lost to Munster on 5 April. "The ERC had a look at the ground and they saw how it operates. "They were impressed and felt that it was a true rugby venue and suitable for staging an event of this magnitude." The European Challenge Cup final will be contested by Worcester and Bath on Sunday 25 May. Fans of both finalists will get priority for purchasing tickets, but a number will be put on general sale for local supporters. Although the match features two of Gloucester's biggest rivals Nottage expects that Cherry and White followers will want to be there. "When you turn the clock back a few years we had fans forums where they were saying 'how do we attract these secondary games?' "At that point we said that it was difficult for us because we didn't have the right facility to attract these teams across. "We didn't have enough seats or the right sort of accommodation for everybody but that's not the case now."
