Gloucester's Ryan Lamb has thanked the Kingsholm crowd for helping the Cherry and Whites through the difficult times.

The fly-half scored two tries as Gloucester beat Saracens 39-15 on Saturday to extend their lead over Bath at the top of the Premiership.

"It's just great to put a performance on for the fans," the 21-year-old told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"Everyone's been saying 'keep your head up', 'good luck' and it really brings the team through," added Lamb.

"We knew we had it in the locker, but to go out there and put it into practice, that's when you really start to believe it."

Lamb is now hoping that his team can use Saturday's performance as a stepping stone to clinching the Premiership title.

"We knew this was a massive game for us and now it puts us in great steam for the rest of the season, we'll hopefully get a home semi."
