Gloucester fly-half Ryan Lamb has signed a two-year contract extension. The 21-year-old has been in sparkling form this season for the Cherry and Whites and the new deal means he will stay at Kingsholm until at least 2010.
"It was up to me to go out and earn a contract, to show the coaches I had the ability to mature, learn and make myself a better player," said Lamb.
"These things aren't just handed out and in that respect I'm really pleased to have made the progress I have."
Lamb has made 45 appearances for Gloucester in all competitions, scoring 353 points, and his performances this season have won rave reviews.
He has pushed himself into the frame as a potential England number 10 and head coach Dean Ryan believes Lamb has the ability to reach the top.

"When you talk about the young players who have the potential to go a long way in this game, his name is in that list," said Ryan.
"For a club like Gloucester, it is very important it maintains that historical link to the community by developing home-grown players and Ryan has been central to our progress this season.
"We asked him to go away and develop a more all-round game to match his running and distributional qualities and he is doing that now much more consistently."
