Simpson-Daniel joined Gloucester straight from school |
James Simpson-Daniel has become the latest Gloucester player to agree a contract extension with the club. The 25-year-old wing, who has won 10 England caps, joined the Cherries in 2000 and has confirmed a two-year deal to keep him at Kingsholm until 2011.
"I love the atmosphere and I'm really pleased," he said. "It's impossible not to be inspired by the level of support and sheer passion for the game."
Andy Hazell and Alex Brown have also committed their futures to the club.
"Gloucester is the only professional rugby club I have ever known," Simpson-Daniel added. "Sometimes it is hard to imagine playing anywhere else."
Head coach Dean Ryan also expressed his delight that Simpson-Daniel would be remaining with the club for the next few seasons.
"There are not many individuals in the country that possess the range of skills James has," he enthused. "He is an international-quality player and I think it says a great deal about where we want Gloucester to be that we have moved now to retain his services.
"James is a central figure at the club, is still developing and evolving as a player and this extra security for him is of huge significance to the club. I think Gloucester supporters will be thrilled he has re-signed until 2011."
