Hazell agrees new Gloucester deal
Gloucester
Gloucester flanker Andy Hazell has agreed a three-year contract extension at Kingsholm through to 2011.

The 29-year-old, who had a year to run on his existing deal, is a talismanic figure at Gloucester and is on the verge of his 10th season with the club.

"We are building something tremendously exciting both on and off the field," said hometown hero Hazell.

"There is competition for places and a real togetherness in the squad - I cannot wait for the season to start."

Hazell, who has won seven England caps, made his Gloucester debut in the 1997-98 season and has since made 167 appearances in all competitions.

He is currently the club's longest-serving player.
