Prendergast played at Kingsholm for Munster in 2003 |
Gloucester have completed the signing of former Munster scrum-half Mike Prendergast on a two-year deal. The 29-year-old will join the Kingsholm club this summer from French side Bourgoin and will replace Haydn Thomas, who is joining Bristol.
"Mike has plenty of experience and will enhance our scrum-half options," said head coach Dean Ryan.
"He's a different player to the other nines here and I look forward to him challenging them to be first choice."
Prendergast left Munster for France last summer and started in four of Bourgoin's six Heineken Cup pool matches.

He played at Kingsholm in 2003 as a replacement in Munster's 33-6 victory over Gloucester in the Heineken Cup.
"When a club of Gloucester's stature shows an interest in you, you'd be mad to ignore it," he said.
"I know all about the passion of the fans and the atmosphere at Kingsholm - the miracle match is a night none of us who were lucky enough to be involved will ever forget.
"Once I met with Bryan Redpath and the other coaches it was a very easy decision to make.
"Gloucester have got a set-up and a squad that can take on the best in Europe, so to be able to play a part in that is fantastic.
"I've had a great time at Bourgoin but I am really looking forward to moving to England in the summer and getting stuck in."
