Gloucester gained revenge for last week's defeat at Stradey in a hard fought Kingsholm pre-season friendly.
New fly-half Willie Walker starred with 19 points for the Cherries, who scored two tries to the Scarlets' three.
Stephen Jones and Dwayne Peel plus youngsters Gavin Evans (two tries) and Martyn Thomas impressed for the Welsh.
But they struggled to cope with the home pack, lost Simon Easterby to a head blow and saw flanker Inoke Afeaki sent off for a second yellow card.
Afeaki is now in danger of missing the start of the league campaign through suspension, while Easterby's injury will be a concern after his multiple concussions last season.
