Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat has declared himself happy with his side's pre-season preparations ahead of the new Magners League campaign.
Moffat used 29 players in the 19-17 win over London Irish on Friday, with no fresh injury concerns ahead of next week's league opener against Cardiff.
"It's early in the season and we've got a lot to work on. They tested us, as did Bath last week," Moffat said.
"They've been two really good games for us and that's exactly what we needed."
Moffat said the game against London Irish had given him food for thought.
"We used 29 players, that's obviously what we wanted to do," he told BBC Scotland.
Edinburgh came from behind to secure a 19-17 win over London Irish
"I thought both teams - because we used two completely different teams - did a lot of good things. The team in the first half was more experienced; the second half team really stuck in well.
"We did a lot of good things in the game. For me, the highlight wasn't winning the game or scoring the try. It was the reward of keeping the ball and a lot of good play inside their 22."
Moffat said London Irish caused his side a headache with their width.
"Because of their physicality, we were probably getting sucked in into the breakdown and putting one player too many, and one or two too tight," he added.
"They were just using width against us and that was a concern. We worked really hard to try to cover it.
"We had three or four guys not playing tonight who should be available next week. Touch wood, I think we got away injury-free.
"To get through two games like that with very few injuries is a major plus because we're going to need our whole squad over the whole season.
"We'll only be successful if our squad performs."
Edinburgh travel to Wales next Saturday to take on Cardiff Blues in their opening game of the new campaign.
