Interview - Edinburgh captain Roddy Grant Edinburgh have appointed openside flanker Roddy Grant as captain for the new season. Grant, who signed a two-year deal with the club in April last year, told BBC Scotland he was "honoured". "Hopefully, I'll lead from the front. First and foremost I've got to be playing well," he said. "I want to lead the boys from the front and make the right decisions. It's something that I'm really excited to do, now the hard work starts." Grant said the captaincy would help his game and that he would also be able to count on the wealth of experience in the Edinburgh squad. "It's just a huge honour; I didn't take a second to think about it," he added. "It's a different voice before the game and on the pitch; we definitely have a group of leaders. "The likes of Mike Blair and Chris Paterson are here and we can bounce ideas off of each other."
