Ross Rennie and Alan MacDonald have stayed while others left |
Edinburgh flanker Alan MacDonald has set his sights on a Scotland call-up after signing a new contract along with fellow back-row forward Ross Rennie. The 21-year-old MacDonald has made 28 appearances for Edinburgh.
And he said: "The club is an exciting place to be at the moment, with the new owners and coaches.
"I'm was born and bred in the capital and it's an honour to play for them. I hope to play as much as I can and eventually play for Scotland."
MacDonald, Scotland's under-21 player of the year last season, has signed a two-year contract.
He is currently with the Scotland squad at the Hong Kong sevens.

Rennie, who turned 21 on Thursday, has secured a new one-year deal.
The announcement follows news in recent weeks that several high-profile players are leaving Scotland's cash-strapped professional teams next season.
But Edinburgh head coach Lynn Howells said: "These latest signings further demonstrate that not all Scottish players are looking to play their rugby outside Scotland.
"Both Alan and Ross have proved this season they are capable of playing in the Magners League and Heineken Cup and they are a great acquisition for Edinburgh."
Their signing for Edinburgh takes the total number of players to 16 who have put pen to paper over the past few weeks as the club continues to build the squad for next season.
Executive chairman Alex Carruthers added: "I am delighted that Alan and Ross are on board for next season as they are two of the most exciting prospects for the future in Scottish rugby, having already represented the country at age group level and sevens."
