Millard to continue Howley's work

Interview: Bill Millard

New Cardiff Blues backs coach Bill Millard has pledged to carry on the work of his predecessor Rob Howley.

Millard, who had David Campese as his Australia sevens assistant coach, says he is impressed with the Blues set-up.

The Australian has taken over from Howley, who has been recruited by Wales coach Warren Gatland.

"I'll be looking to build on Rob Howley's work and look to tweak the attacking side of things," said Millard.

Millard is the third Australian to join the Welsh regional set-up after his countryman John Muggleton and Brad Harrington were recruited by the Scarlets.

"I was quite fussy which European club I wanted to join,'' added 38-year-old Millard.

"I saw them play four or five years ago and I liked the vibe and the culture at the Arms Park.

"I also spoke to Scott Johnson and Matt Cockbain and they spoke very highly of Dai Young and the set-up."
