Justin Burnell guided Cardiff RFC to second place in the Premiership |
Cardiff Blues have completed the reorganisation of their back-room staff with Justin Burnell made forward coach. The 40-year-old ex-Pontypridd, Bridgend and Treorchy back-row forward takes over from Dan Baugh, who returns to his position as conditioning coach. Burnell moves across from the head coach role at Cardiff RFC, who finished runners-up to Neath in the Welsh Premiership last season. Bill Millard and Gareth Baber also joined the Blues staff in June. | 606: DEBATE | "Justin has come from the Blues academy, having been the director of the academy for five years and has done an excellent job there," said Blues director of rugby Dai Young. "When Richard Webster left a season ago we had trouble finding the right person to fill the role of forwards coach. "We asked Dan Baugh to step out of his conditioning role to help out for one season, which is what happened, and he did extremely well. "He was a great help to us last season but he wants to follow a career in conditioning and he joins Trystan Bevan and Chris Tombs in our conditioning team. "We've already announced Bill Millard as our backs coach and Gareth Baber our new skills coach. "These appointments round off our coaching team nicely and puts us in line with other coaching teams across Europe."
