Sweeney has won 35 Wales caps |
Cardiff Blues have confirmed the signing of Wales back Ceri Sweeney from the Newport Gwent Dragons. The 28-year-old Pontypridd product, who won the last of his 35 caps against South Africa in November, is primarily a fly-half but can play at centre. Cardiff Blues Chief Executive Robert Norster said: "Ceri is a quality player who has been a consistent performer." Fly-half David Flanagan, who has played 12 times for the Blues this season, has also signed a contract extension. | 606: DEBATE |
The Blues have also confirmed that lock James Goode, who has once again been sidelined through injury for much of the season, is set to re-establish his career by joining Manawatu in New Zealand. Hooker Duane Goodfield, whose opportunities with the Blues have also suffered through injury, is set to join the Dragons at the end of the current season.
