Manu was cited after his challenge on Sowden-Taylor

Llanelli Scarlets prop Deacon Manu has been suspended for two weeks for his tackle on Cardiff Blues flanker Robin Sowden-Taylor.

A WRU disciplinary committee ruled on Wednesday that the shoulder charge during last Friday's clash at Stradey Park was dangerous.

The offence was deemed at the "lower end" of the scale and Manu will be available again from 9 April.

Scarlets beat the Blues 35-17 to keep their slim Magners League hopes alive.

It appeared as if Manu led into the tackle with his head as he and Sowden-Taylor battled for loose possession.

Sowden-Taylor may now need a shoulder operation and will have a scan on Thursday following an inconclusive X-ray.
