Yapp has recovered well from a sickening knee injury |
Wales loose-head prop John Yapp has signed a contract extension which ties him to the Arms Park outfit until 2010. The 24-year-old missed the final five months of last season with a cruciate knee injury, but he has since battled back to full fitness.
His performances this season have put him in the frame for a recall to the national squad for next year's Six Nations Championship.
"He is very much part of our future plans," said Blues coach Dai Young.

"He has shown that he has the strength and ability to compete at the highest level.
"He has a fantastic work ethic and his performances so far this season have been first rate.
"He's shown in matches against the English clubs that he can mix it with the big players in the English Premiership and we are delighted that he has extended his contract."
Yapp, renowned for his ball-carrying strength, has made 83 appearances for Cardiff Blues.
He won the last of his eight caps as a replacement on Wales' summer tour to Argentina in 2006.
