Hill relishing local derby opener

Bristol head coach Richard Hill says his side must be clinical to beat Bath in their opening Premiership fixture.

Hill's side finished last season with six straight defeats, but he signed six new players during the summer.

He told BBC Radio Bristol: "Bath are an exceptional side who ended the season well and are always tough to beat.

"You can't call these games. We were clinical for 20 minutes against Newport last Saturday. We need to be clinical for 80 against Bath or we won't win."

Bath finished their pre-season programme with a home defeat by Edinburgh, but Hill remained focussed on his own squad.

"We've had five pre-season games and we have two tasks before Sunday.

"The fine tuning of the selection to make sure we pick the right team and to make sure the guys are well rested after three months of work building up to the season."
