Ben Skirving has signed a two-year extension to his deal at Bath.

The 27-year-old back-row player joined the club in 2009 from Saracens and is set for his 50th appearance for Bath when they host Leicester on Saturday.

He has figured in all but two of Bath's games this season and has started eight of their last nine matches.

"Ben has worked hard on his defensive and attacking game and has made gains in his ball carrying and involvement," said head coach Steve Meehan.

"He is an accomplished lineout operator and his positional flexibility makes him a very useful player."

Skirving, who won an England cap on the 2007 tour to South Africa, said: "I feel I can contribute more to the team over the coming seasons as the club moves forward.

"I'm really excited about staying and being part of what I think will be a bright and successful future."
