Former England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Lord MacLaurin is to become a non-executive director of Premiership club Bath. Maclaurin spent five years as the head of the ECB, from it's creation in 1997 until 2002. The 73-year-old has also been Chairman of Tesco and Vodafone. Bath owner Bruce Craig said: "With some major projects in the pipeline and underway we felt it was the right time to introduce more expertise." Maclaurin will be joined by Nick Varney, chief executive of Merlin entertainments Group - which operates venues such as Alton Towers and Madame Tussauds and ex-Barclays Capital managing director Chris Coles. All three will attend their first board meeting later this month.
