Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton says he is still on the lookout for a new striker as he waits for the emergency loan window to open next Tuesday.
The Glovers are without Sam Williams for three weeks following his sending off against Exeter on Tuesday.
That leaves just Dean Bowditch and Luke Freeman as recognised strikers.
"[I'm looking for] a person who can play in a forward-type role, not necessarily a target man," Skiverton told BBC Somerset.
Skiverton continued: "We seemed to cope very well when we had Gavin Williams last year but we haven't got him now."
Williams spent the second half of last season at Huish Park on loan from Bristol City and there had been suggestions he may return for a third spell.
But Skiverton says they were "not even close".
"We enquired about Gav earlier in the season but there was no more dialogue towards that," he added.
"So we are looking in other areas at the moment."
