Berne has scored 32 tries in 122 appearances for Bath |
Bath have released four players, including Australian Shaun Berne. The 30-year-old centre, who has had two spells at the Rec after first joining in 1999, is set to sign for Heineken Cup finalists Leinster. Berne, who can also play at fly-half, stayed for two seasons in his first stint and left for New South Wales Waratahs before returning in 2006. Back-rower Chris Goodman, prop Laurence Ovens and utility back Robbie Kydd have also been released. After the players' exit was announced, Bath released a statement. "Bath Rugby would like to confirm that the players who are due to leave the Recreation Ground over the summer owing to the expiry of their current contracts are in no way linked to the club's ongoing investigations and disciplinary process," it said. "Laurence Ovens, Chris Goodman, James Scaysbrook, Paulica Ion, Shaun Berne, Robbie Kydd and Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu are all therefore free from any allegations."
