Harrison will face Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Sunday |
Bath lock Justin Harrison has signed a deal committing himself to the Guinness Premiership leaders for a further year. "Coming here was always about exposing myself to risk and playing the best rugby I could," said the Aussie, 33, who arrived in the summer from Ulster. But Bath will be without fellow second-row Danny Grewcock, 36, for "quite some time" with a foot injury. The former England lock is set to be sidelined for several weeks after surgery on a ligament and bone injury. It is the second injury blow for the World Cup winner, who missed the beginning of the season with an arm injury. "We'll be planning on being without Danny for quite some time," said head coach Steve Meehan, who was nevertheless delighted with Harrison's decision to extend his time at The Rec. "His overall contribution is, in many ways, better than his individual performance," Meehan added. "He acts as an assistant to the younger players and is always available for them to talk to and, on top of that, his performance for the first team has been of a high standard."
