James has made 22 appearances for Bath and scored 113 points

World Cup-winning fly-half Butch James has signed a new three-year deal with Guinness Premiership leaders Bath.

"I have made some really good friends in Bath and am really happy playing rugby here," said James, 29, whose new deal takes him through to 2011.

The South Africa number 10 also revealed that his international career may be drawing to a close.

"My days as an international might be numbered, although I'd still like to make the (2009) Lions Tour," he said.

The Lions will tour South Africa in June next year where they will play three Tests against the Springboks.
