 James will join Bath after the World Cup in France |
Bath have signed South Africa fly-half Butch James on a two-year contract from Durban-based Super 14 side the Sharks. He is expected to arrive at the Recreation Ground after the World Cup, which finishes in France in October.
James, who has won 18 caps, is likely to be the Springboks' starting number 10 in France.
The 28-year-old is one of more than 20 leading Springboks being rested from the Tri-Nations by coach Jake White ahead of the World Cup.
James is Bath's seventh signing this summer and follows fellow Springbok Michael Claasens to the Rec.
