Springbok Claassens moves to Bath

Claassens joins from South African Super 14 side the Cheetahs

Bath have signed South Africa scrum-half Michael Claassens on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old, who has six caps for the Springboks, joins from Super 14 side the Cheetahs.

"Michael is a physical number nine who bosses a pack very well. His quick service will suit our game," said Bath boss Steve Meehan.

Claassens said: "I have always wanted to play in Europe and to now have this opportunity is fantastic."
