Ireland drop to sixth in rankings
Current Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll
Brian O'Driscoll will captain Ireland in the 2007 World Cup
Ireland have dropped out of the top five in the IRB world rankings following their 31-21 defeat against Scotland at the weekend.

Ironically, Ireland have been replaced in fifth slot by Argentina who they face in a crunch World Cup Pool D game in Paris on 30 September.

Ireland lost twice to the Pumas in the summer with a virtual second-string touring party.

Scotland's win over Ireland sees them move up to 10th place.

Ireland could move up the ranking again if they mange to defeat ninth-ranked Italy at Ravenhill at the end of the month.

New Zealand continue as top ranked side followed by Australia, France and South Africa. World Cup champions England are seventh and Wales eighth
