Ireland have called up Jeremy Staunton as cover for fly-half Paddy Wallace ahead of Saturday's Second Test against Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Wallace injured his knee during Saturday's 22-20 First Test defeat by the Pumas in Santa Fe.

Andrew Trimble (ankle) and Tommy Bowe (shoulder) are also injury doubts.

Argentina have left out fly-half Felipe Contepomi and centre Hernan Senillosa who together scored all the Pumas' points last weekend.

Also missing will be Biarritz trio Marcelo Bosch, Martin Gaitan and Manuel Carizza who are required for club duty in this weekend's French championship semi-finals.

Perpignan lock Rimas Alvarez and Hindu duo Juan de la Cruz Fernandez Miranda and Hernan Senillosa have been included in their places.

However, Montpellier fly-half Federico Todeschini, who scored 22 points in Argentina's 25-18 victory over England at Twickenham last November, is available for this weekend's game.

Staunton was an original selection for the tour of Argentina but later dropped to the Ireland A squad for the Barclays Churchill Cup because of his lack of recent match practice.
