Eddie O'Sullivan's Ireland beat Wales 19-9 in Cardiff |
Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan admitted his side were not at their vintage best as they overcame Wales 19-9 in Cardiff. "Wales made it difficult for us but a lot of our problems came from our own errors," said O'Sullivan.
"We made a lot of mistakes and I know we will have to move it up a notch if we are going to beat France in Dublin."
O'Sullivan brought Brian O'Driscoll off before the end as he had picked up a hamstring injury which could make him doubtful for the French clash
The Irish coach said he would also be checking on Gordon D'Arcy's groin injury.
O'Sullivan will be studying a video recording of the game to pinpoint areas for improvement.
"If we are hard on ourselves, we created problems by not being accurate," added O'Sullivan.
"Wales were thriving on our mistakes at times and putting us under fierce pressure.
"But we dug out a result and it is something we can build on for next week."
Man of the match, Gordon D'Arcy, admitted the intensity of the game had taken its toll on the Irish players.
"The lads are so tired we cannot really enjoy it at the moment," said the Irish centre.
"But that is what it takes to win here. Wales are a strong, competitive team and they were attacking us right up until the last minute. We had to be right on our form to keep them out.
"It was a loose game with a lot of turnovers, probably a great game to watch."
