Tu Tamarua failed medical test |
Ulster's plans to sign former Swansea and Harlequins flanker Tu Tamarua on a short-term contract has fallen through. It was expected that Tamarua would go straight into the team for the Celtic League game against Munster on Saturday.
However, Tamarua failed a stringent medical which was set under strict guidelines by Ulster. He was unable to complete certain aspects of the test.
Ulster will now resume their search for back-row cover for this season.
Tamarua, who represented Australia at schoolboy level, has played for clubs in England, Wales and New Zealand.
The replacement, who will only be available for Celtic League games, is needed following the injury to Neil McMillan who is out for the season after requiring knee recontruction.
