Leawere and colleagues partied after a Test in Japan last week |
Five Fiji players involved in a late night drinking session that led to a brawl have been dropped and could face further disciplinary action. Winger Sekove Leawere, hooker Joeli Lotawa, half-back Emosi Vucago, centre Maleli Kunavore and flanker Semisi Naevo will miss games with Australia A.
They are alleged to have fought among themselves and damaged a hotel room.
"We're trying to build up to the World Cup and this sort of behaviour is just unacceptable," coach Wayne Pivac said.
Pivac admitted he was stunned by the actions of the players and said: "I have been involved in rugby for a long time and I have never come across this kind of behaviour by an international team."
The Fijian Board are now set to wait for an International Rugby Board report before deciding on their next course of action.
"This is something which shouldn't have occurred but has happened and we have to deal with it accordingly," a spokesman said.
Fiji play Australia A at Adelaide on 14 July and Melbourne on 22 July.
