Danielli scored a superb try |
Scotland A will face favourites New Zealand Maori in the final of the Churchill Cup on Saturday. The New Zealanders defeated Ireland A 27-6 in San Francisco.
Scotland A booked their place with a tight 15-10 victory over Canada in Ottawa thanks to a 76th-minute drop goal from fly-half Phil Godman.
Tries from Border Reivers pair Nikki Walker and Simon Danielli helped the Scots to a 12-0 lead before Mike Pyke went over as Canada rallied.
Danielli's try was a peach, launched an arcing run from 30 metres out on the right flank, cutting through the Canadian midfield and scoring in the left corner.
But, with Canada making it 12-10 at the interval - James Pritchard added a penalty - the Scots battened down the hatches in the second half.
And their endeavours were rewarded with Godman's late drop-goal.
Having beaten England Saxons in their opening game last Saturday, Scotland now have 10 days to recover before the final, at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium on 17 June.
The Maori opened their campaign on Wednesday with a 74-6 rout of the United States, Kristian Ormsby scoring four of their 12 tries.
