Owen (right) says Wales' preparations have been flawless |
Wales captain Michael Owen insists his side are close to getting things right after the poor 18-18 draw with Italy. "The confidence is there and our training has been brilliant, but we're not putting it into the game," he said.
"Our high-tempo style is making chances but the execution isn't there; poor handling is the biggest problem.
"We've got to concentrate on cutting out the little errors then we're able to beat anyone, we'll look forward to getting stuck into France next week."
In-form Wales wing Mark Jones, who got an early try against the Azzurri, echoed his skipper's beliefs.
"The draw was hugely disappointing, we put in a lot of effort but got no reward," said the Llanelli Scarlets flier.

"I thought that if we kept the ball we'd put the Italians under pressure, but we didn't score at the vital times and they kept inching back at us.
"Our contact skills let us down and Italy worked hard and spoiled effectively.
"As champions people rightly expected us to win, but I can assure the fans that no-one is more disappointed than us.
"If we can get the fundamentals right and hold onto the ball we'll be fine, but at the moment we're shooting ourselves in the foot.
"It's unfortunate, but it is something we can put right, we know we can play the style of rugby that is good enough to beat anyone.
"We'll go away and work hard to try and put in a great performance and get a win against France next Saturday."
