Lote Tuqiri will spearhead Australia's challenge for Sevens gold at the Commonwealth Games.

Matt Giteau, Scott Fava and Chris Latham are the other Wallabies who will be in action in Melbourne next month.

"Sevens is a high-speed game, so there is no question that guys like Tuqiri, Fava, Latham and Giteau are well suited to it," said coach Glen Ella.

"They'll hopefully give us the edge against the big guns like New Zealand, Fiji, England and South Africa."

Australia Sevens squad for Commonwealth Games:
Scott Fava, Josh Gamgee, Matt Giteau, Chris Latham, Luke Inman, Shawn Mackay, Tom McVerry, Damon Murphy, Nick Reily, Cameron Shepherd, Lote Tuqiri, Brendan Williams.
