Corrigan drafted into Irish team
Reggie Corrigan
Reggie Corrigan was not included in Ireland's original 22
Reggie Corrigan will start for Ireland in Saturday's RBS Six Nations game against France after Marcus Horan was forced to withdraw because of illness.

Horan has been suffering from a vomiting bug and pulled out of the team on Thursday morning.

Leinster veteran Corrigan had not been included in the replacements but he gets the prop role ahead of Simon Best who will remain on the bench.

Horan's withdrawal means Ireland show one change from the win over Italy.

On Wednesday, Denis Leamy was cleared to play when he was found not guilty of a stamping offence.

Number eight Leamy had been cited after Saturday's win over Italy but he was exonerated of stamping on Paul Griffen at a disciplinary hearing.

Anthony Foley had been on stand-by to take over from Leamy but the veteran now drops out of the Ireland squad as he was not included in the replacements.

Reacting to the news, Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan said "justice has been done".

"Denis and the rest of the squad can now concentrate on Saturday's game against France," added the Ireland coach.

Replacing Horan will be the only change coach O'Sullivan makes as he gives the Irish players a second chance after their disappointing display against the Italians.

The players were very disappointed with the way they played against Italy
Eddie O'Sullivan

"To be honest I wasn't tempted to make any changes," said O'Sullivan.

"It was a bad at the office all round against Italy. We will certainly have to improve against France."

O'Sullivan said that Ireland will have to be more productive in the opposition half if they are going to be successful in Paris.

"Against Italy, our set piece was fine, the defence was good and the general play in our third of the pitch was excellent.

"However, it was the attack that was not good as we failed to turn the possession into anything.

"Let's be honest, the Italians played well, but we will get no credit for that. That was probably their best performance in the Six Nations. Let's hope they keep playing like that!

"But the players themselves were very disappointed with the way they played and they are keen want to put things right."

Ireland: Murphy; Horgan, O'Driscoll, capt, D'Arcy, Bowe; O'Gara, Stringer; Corrigan, Flannery, Hayes, O'Kelly, O'Connell, Easterby, Wallace, Leamy.
Replacements: R Best, S Best, O'Callaghan, O'Connor, Reddan, Humphreys, Trimble.
