Dallaglio and Lewsey are club team-mates at Wasps |
Josh Lewsey says England must think carefully before recalling Lawrence Dallaglio because his inclusion would alter the way the team works. "With Lawrence, it's not just a playing issue," said Lewsey. "Because of the character he is, it would change the dynamics and the leadership."
Leicester forward Martin Corry is the current England skipper.
But Lewsey feels there is no reason why Wasps club-mate Dallaglio cannot lead England at the 2007 World Cup.
"It's a big decision for (coach) Andy Robinson, but it's a nice one to have," " said the England full-back. "He's got an embarrassment of riches there."
Lewsey also shrugged off claims that, at 34, Dallaglio is too old for international rugby union.
"He's a pretty fit guy and keeps himself in shape," Lewsey said. "Everyone knows Lawrence's assets, but his selection isn't just a playing issue."
