Jones have given Wales coach Mike Ruddock a timely boost |
Stephen Jones says he will be fit to face New Zealand on Saturday. The fly-half, out for a month with an ankle injury, came through unscathed in his comeback match for Clermont in Sunday's Heineken Cup win over Ospreys.
Jones told BBC Sport: "I was a bit rusty when it came to attack, which was frustrating. But I enjoyed the game.
"It was a physical game and I was delighted to have played the full 80 minutes. I'm looking forward to getting back to Wales and join the lads."
Jones gave Wales coach Mike Ruddock a bit of a scare late in the game when his first-choice fly-half seemed to go down with an injury.
But the 27-year-old stressed: "It was nothing too bad - just a bit of tiredness and a bit of cramp set in.
"But I was delighted to play in such a high-tempo game against the Ospreys.
"Both sides tried to throw the ball around and it was very enjoyable. To play the full game and finish with maximum points was a good weekend."
Jones wore an ice-pack on his troublesome ankle at the end of the game, but stressed it was only a precaution.
He added: "Hopefully [the ankle] will settle down and I can get a full week's training under my belt."
