Grewcock is free to tackle Wales
Danny Grewcock and Lawrence Dallaglio come into contact
Danny Grewcock is free to play for England against Wales on Saturday after the RFU decided to take no action about an alleged stamping incident.

Grewcock appeared to tread on Lawrence Dallaglio during Bath's Premiership win away to Wasps on Saturday.

However, the RFU's independent citing officer, Alan Mansell, decided the incident did not merit a red card.

Meanwhile, Sale's Chris Jones is on stand-by should flanker Lewis Moody fail to shake off a hamstring injury.

Jones joined the squad on Wednesday with Moody still unable to train.

The Leicester player will have a fitness test on Thursday or Friday, and is optimistic of recovering in time.

But if he fails to make it, line-out expert Jones is likely to be promoted to the starting line-up ahead of James Forrester, who is on the replacements bench, or Hugh Vyvyan.

Grewcock has avoided further disciplinary action after being suspended for six weeks for a stamping incident on England's tour to New Zealand last summer.

And he missed the trip to Australia and New Zealand the previous year after being sent off for punching England team-mate Dallaglio in a club game.

England coach Andy Robinson said he had no qualms about including Grewcock when selecting his side to face Wales.

"I want him to play his normal game and expect him to do that," Robinson said.

Grewcock also insisted the Dallaglio incident would have no bearing on his performance in Cardiff.

"I am there to play rugby, to enjoy my rugby, and that is what I will be doing on Saturday," he said.

"It's going to be a fantastic opportunity against a talented Welsh team, and all the England players are going to have to be on top of their game.

"Second-row is an area where they could perhaps have picked two of say five or six guys, and it wouldn't have really weakened the team too much."
