Clockwatch: Wellington 6-23 Lions
All the action as the Lions beat Wellington at the Westpac Stadium (All times BST).

FULL-TIME: Wellington 6-23 Lions

80 mins: The tourists pile forward as they try to increase their lead but when Wilkinson is driven into touch on the wing, Honiss blows the final whistle.

80 mins: The Lions have turnover ball on halfway. O'Driscoll picks it up and looks to attack but substitute Tamati Ellison takes him down with a very high tackle.

77 mins: TRY Wellington 6-23 Lions
The game is descending into a very messy contest but after a Wellington turnover, Thomas seals victory when he follows up his own kick into space to touch down. Wilkinson adds the extras.

75 mins: A lovely inside ball from Jones to Wilkinson sets the Lions on their way. The tourists are patient in their build-up but after plenty of phases, a poor pass on Wellington's 22 ends the move.

72 mins: Peel and White, who have surely done enough to book their places in the Test XV, are replaced by Chris Cusiter and Matt Stevens.

70 mins: The game has lost a bit of intensity as both sides make changes. Wellington try to run the ball out of their own half but they are undone by a sloppy knock-on.

69 mins: Some nice hands from the Lions force Wellington onto the back foot. Robinson makes plenty of ground but scrum-half Piri Weepu brings him down.

68 mins: Winger Shane Horgan gets his chance as he comes on for Lewsey with Robinson moving to full-back.

66 mins: There is a bit of a spark with Jones running the show and Jenkins and Lewsey break the gain-line. The Lions are penalised at the breakdown as they start to look threatening.

63 mins: Lewsey is forced into a defensive clearance from deep inside his own 22 after a searching Nonu kick. Stephen Jones comes on with Wilkinson moving to inside centre, Henson is the man to make way.

60 mins: White is penalised for pulling down the scrum but from the resulting Wellington line-out, Corry steals the ball.

59 mins: Some concern for the Lions as full-back Josh Lewsey receives treatment for a leg injury.

58 mins: Wellington are put under pressure by the front row in the scrum and concede the penalty. With the rain dying out, Wilkinson steps up but his kick just misses.

56 mins: Byrne's throwing is again pin-point accurate at the line-out which gives the Lions some quick ball. Again there is indecision in the backs and the attack comes to nothing.

53 mins: The Lions are forced to work hard as Wellington have a series of five-metre scrums. However, the home side are penalised for crossing in midfield.

50 mins: Wellington are starting to enjoy more of the game and Nonu shows his explosive pace by skinning Thomas on the outside. He kicks on and the Lions defence are forced into making a desperate clearance.

48 mins: The home side pile forward and Waldrom threatens after taking a superb line. He is brought down but continues rolling with the ball after the tackle, Honiss awards the penalty and Wilkinson clears.

46 mins: Wellington try to make ground but again the Lions forwards are aggressive at the breakdown and they turnover ball.

44 mins: PENALTY Wellington 6-16 Lions
Peel shows his strength by making a one-man charge to the Wellington line. It forces the home side into conceding the penalty and despite protest from the Kiwi fans, Wilkinson kicks the points.

41 mins: A confident-looking Thomas gets the ball in hand and Ma'a Nonu has to make an important tackle on Robinson.

40 mins: Gopperth starts the second half. A battered Herring comes off to be replaced by Kane Thompson.

HALF-TIME: Wellington 6-13 Lions

40 mins: Referee Paul Honiss blows for half-time and although the forwards are putting in a much-improved display from the New Zealand Maori game, there is plenty for the backs to ponder at the interval.

40 mins: PENALTY Wellington 6-13 Lions
Herring is running himself into the ground and his endeavour forces the Lions onto the defensive. Wellington are awarded the penalty and Gopperth adds the three points.

36 mins: TRY Wellington 3-13 Lions
Byrne is finding his men at the line-out and another good Grewcock claim allows the impressive Peel to make a sniping break. Corry is in support and the ball is given to the rampaging Jenkins who gets the try his first-half performance deserves. Wilkinson kicks the conversion.

32 mins: Wellington concede a penalty at the ruck and the Lions go for touch rather than goal to emphasise their dominance. The line-out is well won by Danny Grewcock but execution in the backs is again the problem and Wellington clear.

30 mins: Jenkins starts a promising move with a powerful charge down the wing. The ball is far too flat for any real incision but Corry sees a gap despite four players on his outside and is brought down inches from the line. Ben Kay tries to follow up but he knocks on and the chance goes begging.

27 mins: PENALTY Wellington 3-6 Lions
For the first time in the game, Wellington make inroads into the Lions half. Back is pulled up for not staying on his feet at the ruck following a charge from Ben Herring and Jimmy Gopperth puts his side on the scoreboard.

24 mins: PENALTY Wellington 0-6 Lions
From the resulting set piece, Wellington prop Joe McDonnell is penalised for coming up in the scrum after some good work from Julian White. After his earlier miss, Wilkinson makes amends with the kick.

22 mins: A solid Lions scrum starts another attack. O'Driscoll cannot find a way through but there are far more men at the breakdown and the Lions win the scrum.

21 mins: The Lions enjoy plenty of possession but they are just struggling to find the cutting edge at the moment. Corry is tackled five metres from the line and Wellington manage to turn the ball over.

16 mins: Wilkinson's high kick is superbly chased down by Gethin Jenkins. The Lions have plenty of men in support, including the ubiquitous Neil Back and the tourists build plenty of momentum. However, Byrne knocks on from a poor Wilkinson pass.

15 mins: A half break from Thomas puts the Lions in opposition territory yet again. Thomas Waldrom comes in from the side at a ruck and Wilkinson's kick for goal surprisingly goes wide.

14 mins: From the line-out, Byrne's throw is stolen by Wellington but they are not alive to win the ball on the floor. The Lions launch an attack but poor passing lets them down again.

12 mins: Jason Robinson gets the ball in hand for his first proper run but the Wellington line comes up to force him sideways. Henson produces a fine kick that puts the home back inside their own 22.

10 mins: The Lions have made an impressive start and a powerful scrum forces Wellington to concede a penalty. Dwayne Peel takes the quick tap penalty but the attack breaks down as a stray pass goes out of bounds.

8 mins: PENALTY Wellington 0-3 Lions
O'Driscoll tries to get the Lions moving with a run across the defensive line. Ormsby takes Corry out off the ball for the penalty and Wilkinson puts the first points on the board.

6 mins: To a backdrop of boos, Gavin Henson's drop goes wide but centre Tane Tu'ipulotu concedes the penalty for a late shoulder charge on Wilkinson.

5 mins: The Lions look lively and some good hands and support from Neil Back puts them on the front foot.

4 mins: Touch judge Steve Walsh intervenes after a line-out in the Wellington 22. Martin Corry is the offender and he is pulled up for a swinging arm on Kristian Ormsby.

2 mins: Wing Gareth Thomas gets the first chance to stretch his legs after a nice looping pass from Shane Byrne. Wellington bundle the ball out of play.

1 min: From the kick-off, the Lions show their intent by turning over the ball with aggressive work at the breakdown. The ball comes out to Wilkinson but his drop goal goes wide.

0810: Jonny Wilkinson, making his first tour appearance in New Zealand, kicks off.

0809: The Lions take off their tracksuits and their first-ever game at this stadium is just moments away.

0808: With the rain sweeping in, both sides line up for the "Power of Four" and the New Zealand national anthem.

0804: The Wellington side take the pitch and are unsurprisingly given a rousing reception.

0803: Lions skipper Brian O'Driscoll leads his side out onto the Westpac Stadium pitch knowing that only a win is good enough following the loss to the New Zealand Maori.

0755: The "Cake Tin" is slowly filling up and will be rammed to the rafters come kick-off. The fans are well wrapped up to shield themselves from the wind and the rain on a bleak night.

0746: The Lions players are on the pitch going through their pre-match routines. Wellington have the tackle bags out as they workout near the try-line.
