Burger (left) has struggled on tour |
South Africa coach Jake White has made seven changes for Saturday's Test against Scotland after his side's mauling by England at Twickenham. Star flanker Schalk Burger heads a casualty list also featuring prop Eddie Andrews, centre De Wet Barry, wing Breyton Paulse and flanker AJ Venter.
Prop Gurthro Steenkamp and flanker Solly Tyibilika will make their debuts.
Wing Bryan Habana, who scored after coming on against England, will start his first Test match.
Tyibilika takes the place of Burger, CJ van der Linde replaces Andrews and Steenkamp starts ahead of Os du Randt, who is on the bench.
Jaque Fourie comes in for Paulse on the right wing, Wayne Julies replaces Barry at inside centre, while Danie Rossouw replaces Venter.
There are also four changes on the bench with Danie Coetzee, Jacques Cronje and Gcobani Bobo coming in for the first time on this tour and Gaffie du Toit returning to the match 22.
Wing Jean de Villiers was not considered due to an ankle injury.
After starting their tour with hopes of a "grand slam" over the home unions, the Springboks, who beat Wales in their opening Test, are now seeking to salvage pride after defeats to Ireland and England.
