South Africa coach Jake White saluted a "superb" England display as he admitted his side were outplayed at Twickenham. "Up front they dominated us physically and every time we got into contact situations they just smashed us off the ball. England were superb," he said.
"It looked like men against boys at times and these guys are not world champions for nothing.
"The score probably flattered us a bit and if England had kept the heat on it could have been worse."
White admitted that England's opening half-hour, after which they led 20-6, had effectively won them the match.
"Our captain Jon Smit said he had never started a Test match with such intensity," White added.

"We thought we would come out firing but at half-time I could tell the players couldn't believe what had hit them. "The way they started in the first 20 minutes, we just couldn't compete."
White insisted his side would learn some harsh lessons before contemplating the final match of their tour against Scotland next week.
"We have to look at our conditioning and make sure we step up a level," he added.
"This is a young team and we have got to take lessons from that and make sure we look after ourselves.
"We have proved we can play a bit by beating New Zealand, Australia, Ireland twice and Wales twice.
"But if we are looking to be the best in the world we have seen with our own eyes now what the best looks like."
