Lyons earns place for Australia
David Lyons
Lyons impressed against the French Barbarians
David Lyons will replace the injured John Roe as number eight when Australia face Scotland on Saturday.

The straight switch is the only change to the team that was beaten 27-14 by France last weekend.

Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has freshened up his bench - bringing in back rower Stephen Hoiles and recalling lock Radike Samo.

Roe has a minor neck injury and is doubtful for the clash with England at Twickenham on 27 November.

Lyons wins his chance after impressing playing for Australia A in the 45-15 win over the French Barbarians on Tuesday, as did the ACT Brumbies duo of Hoiles and Samo.

And Jones praised Lyons, Samo and Hoiles for taking their chance.

"John Roe had a good game last week against France but unfortunately he has a neck problem which has ruled him out for this match and then possibly the England Test," said Jones.

"With David Lyons putting in a strong performance against the Barbarians he deserves an opportunity to get his starting spot back.

"We're looking to get a bit more flexibility off the bench and Radike and Stephen played very well. They ran with the ball well, made some good tackles and their all round game was also pretty good."

Full-back Chris Latham set to earn his 50th Test Cap for Australia at Hampden Park.

"I started the season with a goal of reaching my 50th cap this year and it's something I'm really excited about," said Latham.

"We all know we need to put in a much better performance this weekend against Scotland.

The Australians beat Scotland 31-14 at Murrayfield a fortnight ago.

Australia: Chris Latham, Clyde Rathbone, Stirling Mortlock, Matt Giteau, Lote Tuqiri, Stephen Larkham, George Gregan (capt), David Lyons, Phil Waugh, George Smith, Daniel Vickerman, Justin Harrison, Alastair Baxter, Jeremy Paul, Bill Young.

Replacements: Brendan Cannon, Matt Dunning, Radike Samo, Stephen Hoiles, Elton Flatley, Wendell Sailor, Mat Rogers.
