Australia coach Eddie Jones made an official complaint to the International Rugby Board following his side's 31-14 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield. Jones said pitch width had been reduced overnight to suit Scotland in the face of the Wallabies' firepower out wide.
"It was difficult because the pitch was only 65 metres wide and there wasn't much space for 15 blokes," he claimed.
"We trained on a different sized pitch on Friday - it was 70m and the markings were different."
Jones added: "It's a little bit comical and we're taking it all in jest but I don't think we want to see this thing in the game.
"We found out the width of the pitch had changed 45 minutes before kick off.
"We've made an official issue of it to the IRB. There should be a match commissioner looking after these sort of things.
A spokesman for the Scottish Rugby Union refuted Jones' claims and said the lines on the pitch had only been partially marked out on Friday.
He also insisted that IRB rules on the dimensions of an international pitch state only that it should be no wider than 70m with no minimum width.
