Scotland coach Matt Williams praised his players for their second-half performance in the 31-14 defeat by Australia at Murrayfield. "I thought there would be a dip at some point in the 80 minutes because we had fielded such a young side," he said.
"But I didn't think that dip would come in the first half."
"The plus side was that the second half - when the guys could have capitulated - was very good. We won it and played good rugby."
"We scored two good backs tries with the forwards laying the platform. We showed real character in the second half."

And Williams criticised the visitors for their style of play.
"The way they played all game was obstruction," he added.
"Chris Cusiter was tackled without the ball for the first try, there's no missed tackle there. They've developed a new play which is obstruction every time."
Australia coach Eddie Jones was modestly pleased to start their tour with victory.
"We are not totally satisfied, but it is a good start to the tour," he said.
"Scotland did well in the second half and we started to get tired, but every team that comes to Murrayfield expects a hard game.
"We haven't played for 10 weeks, so we will improve on that."
Man of the match Stirling Mortlock admitted that the Wallabies will have to improve on their performance.
"We are reasonably happy with the first-half performance, but it tailed off in the second," said the opening try scorer.
"We will definitely be looking at the tape of the game.
"We will need to see what things we did wrong before the game against France next week."
