Caucau has been in electric form for Auckland |
Rupeni Caucaunibuca has turned back on his decision to quit playing international rugby for Fiji, according to his national coach. The Auckland winger, better known as "Caucau", gave up playing for the Fijians last November in a bid to become a New Zealand All Black.
But Fiji coach Wayne Pivac said: "He is keen to stay with Fiji and is looking forward to return home after Super 12."
Caucau has been in electric form to date in this season's Super 12.
He scored a stunning hat-trick of tries as the Auckland Blues defeated the Canterbury Crusaders 38-29.
Caucau looked set to have closed the curtain on his Fijian career to focus on the All Blacks.

But under current eligibility regulations, Caucau cannot switch countries because he has played for Fiji in both sevens and full internationals.
But a review of International Rugby Board rules, backed by New Zealand and Australia, may see them re-written.
Caucau has also been called up for the Pacific Islanders combined team to face Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in July.
"He is very keen to make himself available for the Islanders if he is selected," said Pivac of a team which will consist of Fijians, Samoans and Tongans.
The Tests are due to be played against the Wallabies, All Blacks and Springboks on 3, 10 and 17 July respectively.
