Poitrenaud salutes rampant France

Clement Poitrenaud scores the second try for France
Poitrenaud slid over for France's second try
Clement Poitrenaud was delighted at the way France bounced back from their defeat by England to beat Scotland at the Stade de France on Sunday.

The 20-year-old full-back crossed for one of France's four tries as they thrashed Scotland 38-3 to leave them rock-bottom of the Six Nations table.

The 35-point margin between the two sides equalled France's biggest-ever winning margin against Scotland.

"The purpose and desire was there today so I think we're on the right track," said Poitrenaud.

Guts and determination are not a problem - it was the simple basics we did not do well

"What was pleasing was our rhythm of play and I hope it was good to watch.

"I hope we can go and put up a similar performance against Ireland at Lansdowne Road."

Man of the match Francois Gelez turned in an impressive display for the French and the fly-half was delighted with the passion shown by his side.

"We made some mistakes but we badly wanted to redeem ourselves," he said.

"When we are in that kind of spirit at the Stade de France we fear nothing and nobody."
