| Wednesday, 30 October, 2002, 14:43 GMT Uncapped trio handed chance ![]() Nikki Walker has been in good form for The Borders Three uncapped players have been handed the chance to play their way into Scotland coach Ian McGeechan's World Cup thoughts. McGeechan has named his squad for the first of the autumn Tests, against Romania on 9 November. Glasgow's Stuart Moffat and Borders pair Nikki Walker and Bruce Douglas are the trio who have been rewarded for their impressive start to the season. Moffat has been in fine form in his first professional season, while Walker has scored nine tries in the last four weeks. Meanwhile, Glasgow prop David Hilton has been named in the A squad for the game against their Romanian counterparts on 5 November in Aberdeen.
McGeechan insists players from both squads can still make the World Cup squad. "It is about keeping the flexibility between the two teams," he said. "We need to try and tie in the performances of the players in both teams. "We won't do what we did last year and name a squad for the whole series and not utilise all the players. "To be fair to the players, we have got to try and make sure if they are not directly involved in the senior squad, they are involved in the A team. "We are trying to get the most from the experience for the younger players particularly. "This will be the first time we are together and it has got to be meaningful preparation for our three games."
