Wales coach Steve Hansen says his players are desperate to get some wins under their belts in the November internationals.

Hansen's men are on a five match losing streak, and have won only once in the last nine internationals.

Romania, Fiji, Canada and New Zealand come to Wales next month for what Hansen has described as a "mini World Cup" for his team.

Wales play Romania in Wrexham on November 1, followed by matches in Cardiff against Fiji on November 9 before taking on Canada and New Zealand on the following two Saturdays.

"Playing Fiji and Canada will be a good lead up to the All Blacks," said Hansen.

"You've got to remember that this side has not won too many games and we need to build confidence and make the most of opportunities to try things and grow.

"We're at a stage whereby we need to play and win some games and at the end of it we play the All Blacks, who I think still set the benchmark for rugby.

"If we are to improve to the standard we want in Wales then we are going to have to play the best.

"We played Australia this time last year, South Africa twice over the summer and we face New Zealand twice before the World Cup. So it's ideal."

Wales have been drawn with Canada and New Zealand in World Cup Pool D.

Italy and the successful team from the repechage two qualifying tournament will be their other opponents.

"It's a mini World Cup for us," added Hansen.

"After the Romania game all the sides will be involved next year and we also play Canada and the All Blacks in our group."

Hansen will name a 30-strong squad on October 22. He said that while he knew the bulk of his line-up there were still one or two places up for grabs.

New Zealand have already stated their intention to rest some key players for their tour of Europe.

"(Jonah) Lomu is coming and whoever they send will form a very strong team," stressed Wales team manager Alan Phillips.
