Rogers delays shoulder surgery
Mat Rogers has made an impact in rugby union

Wallaby Mat Rogers will put an operation on hold so he can tour Argentina and Europe in November.

The rugby league convert has been troubled all season by a degenerative shoulder problem that needs surgery.

The 26-year-old considered going under the knife last month but will now wait until after Australia's four-test tour of Argentina, Ireland, England and Italy.

"(Wallaby coach) Eddie (Jones) wants to try a few things on that (four-test) tour so I really need to be part of that," Rogers said.

"We talked about it and if I got the surgery done as soon as I came back (from South Africa) I might have been cutting it fine because it could take anywhere from four to eight weeks to recover."

Rogers, , who has yet to start a Test after making six appearances as a substitute, said he expected to be back from his operation in time for next year's Super 12 series.
