All Blacks run riot
All Black Jonah Lomu is tackled by Nicky Little of Fiji
The All Blacks were rampant against Fiji
New Zealand 68-18 Fiji

New Zealand followed up their mauling of Ireland by running rampant against hapless Fiji in Wellington.

Christian Cullen scored three tries, taking his international tally to 46 and moving him past Jeff Wilson as the All Blacks' most prolific try scorer of all time.

But the win could prove costly with key players Tana Umaga, Leon MacDonald, Taine Randell and Andrew Mehrtens all suffering injuries.

Penalties: Mauger

The result was never in doubt with Kees Meeuws and Norm Maxwell each bagging a brace of tries, and Doug Howlett, Leon MacDonald, Aaron Mauger and Scott Robertson also crossing.

The result put a dampener on celebrations for Fiji who learned on Saturday that they had qualified for next year's World Cup by virtue of Samoa's victory over Tonga.

But the tourists did gain some consolation as Norman Ligairi scored two tries.

Scintillating build-ups led to New Zealand's first two tries to Cullen and winger Howlett.

The next three came from mauls near the try line, and New Zealand all but secured victory two minutes after half-time following a clever kick and chase by MacDonald.

Fiji hit back with a superb individual effort by Ligairi, who ran around Jonah Lomu and cut inside Cullen.

Mauger scored from another chip and chase but was at fault for Ligairi's second try when he threw a pass that the Fijian intercepted.

There were late tries for Maxwell and Cullen (two), while replacement No. 8 Scott Robertson crossed the try line at the base of a pushover scrum.

New Zealand coach John Mitchell will name a 26-man squad for the Tri-Nations series on Monday, but will be anxiously awaiting the inujury reports on the key quartet.
