Queensland chief executive Jeff Miller said on Monday the Reds were on the look-out for a new coach after opting not to renew McBain's contract. "The Reds are going through a period of change with the retirement of a number of players," Miller said. "And that makes it vital we have the right person to take the team forward." McBain has been with the Reds since taking over from John Connolly in 2000. He led the side to the Super 12 semi-finals in his first season, but despite winning more games and points this season the side narrowly missed the play-offs, finishing in fifth place. | See also: 25 May 02 | Rugby Union 25 May 02 | Rugby Union 28 May 02 | International 19 Feb 02 | International Top International stories now: Links to more International stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
