Worcester Warriors have signed full-back Errie Claassens from their Championship rivals London Welsh. The versatile 28-year-old, who is the brother of Bath scrum-half Michael, has scored 24 tries in 52 games over nearly two seasons with the Exiles. "Errie impressed us at the very start of this season when we played London Welsh," Warriors head coach Richard Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "He can play as a full-back or wing, but he has been signed as a full-back." South Africa-born Claassens, who is English qualified, joined Rotherham in August 2005, going onto make 87 appearances, including 38 tries, in four seasons with the Titans. "Errie has a strong left foot, which is an important asset to have in the side, and a lovely step and counter attack," Hill continued. "His attitude is outstanding and he is very much a sponge who will absorb everything you say. "He sees this move as a really good opportunity to continue to improve as a player and we look forward to welcoming him in the summer." Claassens looks certain to line up against Worcester when they travel to London Welsh on Saturday 8 April for their Championship play-off clash. There will be full commentary on London Welsh v Worcester Warriors on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 104 FM and online bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
